DIRECTIONS TO MORRIS HILLS HIGH SCHOOL
ROCKAWAY, NEW JERSEY
Access from Route 46 (East of Rockaway)
If you drive on Route 46, you will pass the Town of Denville on your right. Continue on Route 46 for about three miles, passing the Garden State Flea Market on your left. Take the first right turn past the large Harmon's sign(just before you approach the red light) and proceed to "Stop" sign. Bear left and cross West Main Street onto Swede Mine Road. Continue up hill and take first right onto Overlook Drive. This leads to the school. Parking areas are available to your left.
Access from Route 46 (West of Rockaway)
If you drive east on Route 46, continue through Dover. About a mile from Dover you will pass ShopRite and a Stewart's Root Beer Stand on the right. Before the next traffic light, turn right at the sign which reads All turns and Rockaway, turn left at the "Stop" sign and go through a traffic light. Take first left past light to proceed up hill(Swede Mine Road). Take next right onto Overlook Drive. This leads directly to the school. Parking areas are available on your left as you approach the school.
Access from I-80
Whether you are coming east or west on Interstate 80, exit at Hibernia-Rockaway exit (Exit 37) and turn right onto Route 513. Follow this road marked with a double yellow one half(1/2) mile until it dead ends in the center of Rockaway. Turn right at the bank onto West Main Street, which again is Route 513. Follow West Main Street for approximately 1.2 miles. As you approach the first traffic light(West Main Street and Route-46). Just before this light, turn right onto Swede Mine Road. Proceed one block and turn right onto Overlook Drive. This leads directly to the school. Parking areas are available on your left as you approach the school.
Access from Route 10 (Traveling West)
Proceed through seven traffic lights beyond intersection of Route 10 and I-287(the first one is just beyond the Howard Johnson Motel as you exit I-287). Take the next right onto Salem Street and at the second traffic light make a right turn onto Franklin Road. Go about 1/2 mile. Turn left onto Rockaway Road. Cross Route 46 and make immediate left turn onto Swede Mine Road. Take next right onto Overlook Drive. This leads directly to the school. Parking areas are available on your left as you approach the school.
Access from I-287 - NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway
Proceed on I-287 until intersection of I-287 and I-80. Take I-80 west and follow access from I-80(refer to #3). Access from NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway--Exit onto I-287 Northbound until intersection of I-287 and I-80. Take I-80 west and follow access from I-80(refer to #3)
GIFFORD FIELD (follow directions to campus of Morris Hills H.S.)
From the school’s main entrance:
- Bear to your right and follow that road around the building.
- As you come around, the main building will be on the left and the Dr. James McNasby Technology Center will be straight in front of you. Park in that lot and follow #4 below.
From West Main Street:
- Turn onto Elycroft Avenue
- right if coming from center of Rockaway Borough
- left if coming from Route 46
- At the top of the hill, turn left onto Longview Avenue.
- Drive through the rear entrance of Morris Hills High School and into the parking lot.
- Spectators should walk around the Tech Center and the stadium is located up the hill on the right hand side. The Home side bleachers are to the left and the Visitor’s bleachers are to the right.
Bathrooms are located in the rear of the Tech Center …..BEFORE you walk up the hill.
UPPER GIFORD FIELD (follow directions to campus of Morris Hills H.S.)
From the school’s main entrance:
- Bear to your right and follow that road around the building.
- As you come around, the main building will be on the left and the Dr. James McNasby Technology Center will be straight in front of you. Park in that lot and follow #4 below.
From West Main Street:
- Turn onto Elycroft Avenue
- right if coming from center of Rockaway Borough
- left if coming from Route 46
- At the top of the hill, turn left onto Longview Avenue.
- Drive through the rear entrance of Morris Hills High School and into the parking lot.
- Spectators will need to walk up to the stadium and continue past the football field and track to Upper Gifford Field, which sits atop the large brick wall. Open access to the field is located to the left of the brick wall.
Please note: There are NO bathroom facilities on that field. Bathroom facilities are located in the rear of the McNasby Tech Center, which is where you parked!!!
DIRECTIONS TO MORRIS HILLS OFF-CAMPUS ATHLETIC FIELDS
Norway Field
Green Pond Road, Rockaway Township
FROM ROUTE 80 EASTBOUND OR WESTBOUND:
Route 80 to Exit 37. Turn left at traffic light at end of ramp onto Route 513 North (Green Pond Road). Travel Green Pond Road approximately 5 miles. Turn right into Norway Field - just after "Good to Go Deli". If you see Katherine D. Malone School on your right, you have gone too far.
Peterson Field
98 Fleetwood Drive, Rockaway Township
FROM ROUTE 80 EASTBOUND:
Route 80 to Exit 35 (Rockaway Mall). Stay to the right and the ramp and make a right onto Mount Hope Road southbound (towards mall). Merge all the way over into left lane. At the 2nd mall entrance, turn LEFT at light onto Mineral Spring Road. Make 1st RIGHT onto Fleetwood Drive
Peterson Field is up the hill on the left side. There are two parking lots (choose either)
FROM ROUTE 80 WESTBOUND:
Route 80 to Exit 35A/Dover (Rockaway Mall exit). At end of ramp you will merge onto Mount Hope Road southbound (towards mall). Merge all the way over into left lane. At the 2nd mall entrance, turn LEFT at light onto Mineral Spring Road. Make 1st RIGHT onto Fleetwood Drive. Peterson Field is up the hill on the left side. There are two parking lots (choose either).
Donatoni Community Park
West Main Street, Rockaway Borough
FROM 1-80
Whether you're coming east or west on 1-80, take Exit 37 & make a right onto Rt. 513. Follow this road until it deadens in the center of Rockaway. Make a right at the bank onto West Main St., which is still Rt. 513. Follow West Main St. for approximately ¾ mile. Donatoni Park is located on the left side
FROM RT. 46 (EAST OF ROCKAWAY)
Take Rt. 46 West through Denville. Go 2 miles to the McDonalds on the right. Continue for 1 more mile. Go past Dunkin Donuts & at the large Harmon sign on the right (just before the traffic light). Make a right onto West Main Street. Donatoni Park is ¼ mile on right side.
FROM RT. 46 (WEST OF ROCKAWAY)
Take Rt. 46 East through Dover. Go 1 mile past Dover. Pass TJ Maxx & Shoprite on the right. Keep going. Pass Stewarts Root beer Stand on the right. Just before the traffic light, make a right at the sign which reads "ALL TURNS" & "ROCKAWAY”. That is West Main Street. Donatoni Park is ¼ mile on right side.
FROM RT. 10
Take Rt. 10 to Dover-South Salem St. exit. Go to the 2nd traffic light (opposite K-Mart entrance) & make a right onto Franklin Rd. Make a left onto Rockaway Rd. Cross Rt. 46 onto West Main Street. Donatoni is ¼ mile on right.
